One Meatball - Dave Van Ronk

It’s Meat Week at Morning Edition! With stories about how we evolved to eat meat, why America eats more meat than any other nation (USA! USA!), and more to come, this is a topic near and dear to my heart (literally, figuratively). And just as meat inspires grill and kitchen warriors, so it does musicians.
So what are your favorite songs about meat? I’m partial to “Beef Rapp” by MF Doom (“It ain’t no startin’ back once arteries start to squeeze”).
Last time we did this, it was a lotta fun so I thought I’d ask you guys again for your current favorites in the Americana/Country/Folk scene. Lemme know and I’ll compile the best answers into a playlist - same as before.
I’ve got Deke Dickerson, Rachel Harrington, Stacey Earle & Buck Owens.
Hank Penny - Bloodshot Eyes
That’s a lotta boozin’ you have to do to get that effect.
The Jake Leg Stompers - HIll Country HooDoo
Featuring Jimbo Mathus
Tony Joe White - Polk Salad Annie
Gator got your Grannie. Chomp. Chomp chomp.
Lord have mercy.
