Talk show host Merv Griffin shot footage of Merle Haggard’s return to San Quentin, where he did 3 years starting in 1957. Hag was there to record some tracks for a live gospel album entitled “The Land Of Many Churches.” Griffin never used the footage, but it’s recently been rediscovered.
